Fairwell Chesapeake

Weather has been nasty on the Bay; 15-20 knot winds, 5-6 foot seas. Coastal flood warnings and small craft warnings persist for days. We hunkered down in Deltaville and rocked and rolled on the face dock for 9 days. We spent our time doing minor maintenance projects, inventoried everything on the boat, and visited with new friends on Waterford and Day Dreams, beautiful Krogen 39’s. We finally got a break and made a run down to Tidewater in Norfolk. As luck would have it the weather again turns nasty; rain for the next several days and tropical storm Joaquin is predicted to reach Norfolk by Sunday with 83 mph winds at its center. We may be here awhile. Our friends on Uno Mas are here so we’ll have company. And we have plenty of rum!

We enjoyed Chesapeake Bay this summer; except for the heat. It is a boating paradise. One could spend a lifetime exploring the Bay, its waterfront cities, towns and hamlets and countless anchorages. 11,000 miles of shoreline. We spent more time at each stop than we anticipated for various reasons but, at the same time, got to know these places well. All-in-all a great trip north.

Hello big brother! Sitting in a villa in Italy drinking wine and had to check on you two. Saw on CNN that a hurricane is headed your way. Stay safe and I’ll call when we get back to the states.
